From a diagram: Short circuit current = 0.7 A The 60V limit was introduced for car applications because of the high voltage spikes killing all standard ICs. This IC is less suitable for a continuous high input voltage because of the power limit not exceeding the value of the standard 78xx- family. __________________________________
